Jabil expands robotics and digital commerce production: The manufacturer of manufacturing solutions Jabil Inc. claims that by expanding its center of excellence in Chihuahua, Mexico, it has improved its digital commerce capabilities.

At the annual exhibition of the National Retail Federation (NRF) in New York, Florida-based Jabil said that the move included the design, development, and production of retail and warehouse automation systems.

With the opening of this third factory in Chihuahua, the region’s fifth, clients now have access to more than a million square feet of production capacity in the area. Customers may gain from more nearshoring options, improved access to robots and process automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and additive manufacturing, in addition to better operational efficiency and flexibility from Jabil.

For instance, Jabil has assisted Ocado Group, a robotics platform firm, in scaling up the production of Ocado’s Series 600 robot and expanding its use of additive manufacturing. According to Jabil, the automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) for both grocery and non-grocery applications may now operate at significantly higher economics and perform much better thanks to the lighter and more effective fulfilling robot.
